Remember me

Welcome to the Anglian Coastal Network

Chairman's Introduction

Trevor Branton Now that we are in the second year of effective operation of the Anglian Coastal Network of the IET it is appropriate to reflect on the achievements of the past year and to assess the challenges which lie ahead. Following the formation of IET, much effort was required to ensure the transition to the new institution was successful, and that the task of establishing a thriving and effective network remained on course. I particularly wish to recognise the parts played by the first network chairman, Iain Moffat, and by the network Secretary, David Higgins, and to thank them for all their efforts during the formative period of the Anglian Coastal Network.

Our members will face increasing challenges in the coming years. These will include how to increase production efficiency whilst using less freely available and more expensive resources, how to reduce the detrimental impact of man’s activities on planet Earth and how to react to those who would misuse technology to advance their own agenda.

The network programme for the coming session includes flying machines, alternative energy options, the V-bomber and code-breaking through to latest developments in technology and should provide something of interest for all members. Following the interest shown last year further Lifeskills Training will also be provided in this session.

I hope that you will enjoy the programme of events and wish you all the best for the coming session.
