Is local.iee.org the right place for me?
The ISG is working very hard to provide services to cater for all your Web Hosting needs. Take this quick quiz to see if you should let local.iee.org or the IEE community pages host your web site. You can of course host some pages on both of these services, should you choose!
My needs:
- Do you need greater control over the design of your pages?
- Do you need to use Server Side Includes or PHP pages to create dynamic content on your site?
- Do you need to use PHP or Perl with a database for your web site?
- Do you want to have the ability to upload pages via FTP?
- Do you want to have your own domain name?
If you answered 'yes' to any of the above questions, then you need to be on local.iee.org. If you answered no, to them all, then the IEE Community Pages is the best place to put your web site.
The IEE Community Pages offers a no-hassle "What You See Is What You Get" editor to place your pages straight onto the web. You don't even have to worry about the design of your web site, as the standard IEE Template is add for you automatically. Although the editor is an on-line tool, you can still generate your pages off-line using MS Word and "cut and paste" your content straight on to the web site.

Support for the two services is comparable - what ever you need, you should ask for and every effort will be made to incorporate your needs into the service.
